After learning about the inner and outer planets, we started our studies of Earth. Students drew models of Earth's layers and diagrams of the Earth's plate boundaries. We have been using it to begin writing scripts for our STEM expo project. The students will create a movie and edit it and use the video to teach robotics to one of the kindergartens in our district.\r\n\r\nIt has quickly proven to be a wonderful addition to our classroom. They are working in groups using the laptop along side their Chromebooks and my desktop computers. It is very versatile and more powerful than the Chromebooks. I am excited to have them do some advanced video editing on it in the near future but already it has been used when a student forgot their Chromebook.\r\nA few weeks ago I started working with one student in the morning on programming using Python with the laptop. He told me to tell you that he really appreciates all your help! It really helped lay the ground work for the project. Then the students designed the covers for their cards and wrote what they were going to say.\r\n\r\nThen the fun began. I brought in 3 girls from the class, who I knew were very nervous about the project and I told them they were going to help me teach how to make the circuits to the rest of the class. We built their cards, which gave them confidence. \r\n\r\nThe girls and I, taught it to the entire class. It was amazing!
