This is an opportunity to make science come alive for our students. Microscopes and prepared slides will increase student knowledge and exploration into the world they cannot see. We have science kits in our classrooms, but we are lacking in one great, important aspect of science- the ability to see and discover a new world. The district does not have funding to purchase additional items outside of the kit materials. Our after school science program features a unit on forensic science and a unit called microscope magic. Working with these microscopes will be a priceless, exciting experience for our students. Giving low-income students access to this technology is an investment in the future as they engage in a world they have never seen before.
