It helped me create a fun learning environment in which my students enjoyed learning about various careers in the construction industry. The students also worked cooperatively in teams to construct a bridge that would allow the three billy goats to safely cross the river to get to their grazing area without being eaten by the mean troll. The students really took pride in their bridge creations.\r\n\r\nOn another day, the students enjoyed a fun 'beach' themed day. On that day, students learned about jellyfish, being a lifeguard, and got to design a surfboard for Santa with various materials. The surfboards for Santa were actually tested in a tub of water and although not all groups were successful in creating a surfboard that was able to float, all the students had a lot of fun.\r\n\r\nOn both days, there were a variety of crafts that the students created using the materials provided through this donation. These various arts and craft projects provided students with a creative outlet and the excitement on their faces was heart-warming.
