Both students and I were very proud to have the majority be able to recognize and write more than 100 sight words by the end of the kindergarten school year.\r\nThe choices of materials to use was a breath of fresh air. Students were excited to use the new games and flashcards, as well as have the printing boards to be able to write on without smudges or leftover pen marks from previous years use. I, on the other hand, am thrilled with the cart that has more than enough space to keep all materials in one place and nicely organized.\r\nIt will be wonderful to be able to start the new school year with this large assortment of materials to help the students build their sight word vocabulary. I'm confident that students will progress even faster than in years past with the new materials that will spark their curiosity, hold their attention and ultimately help them learn. Your generosity has provided our students with a wonderful hands-on learning experience as they discover how to grow and care for crops that they can eventually enjoy eating.\r\n\r\nThis year, our students successfully grew several varieties of lettuce. They eagerly planted, watered, and cared for the plants while observing how quickly they grew. When the lettuce was ready to harvest, we used it to make fresh, healthy salads for our class to sample. For many of our students, this was their first time seeing how lettuce grows. Some were initially hesitant to eat it because they had never connected the vegetables on their plates to the growing process. By the end of the experience, they were excited and proud to taste the salads they had helped grow themselves.\r\n\r\nIn addition to our vegetables, we planted a beautiful flower bed. The students were delighted to watch the flowers bloom, and we were able to pick them and create simple flower arrangements for Mother's Day. This special project gave students another opportunity to appreciate the results of their hard work and care.\r\n\r\nThe students truly enjoyed every part of the gardening experience, from planting seeds to watering the beds and watching their plants flourish. Their curiosity and excitement grew right alongside the garden. They are already looking forward to planting more vegetables next school year. We are considering growing string beans and eggplants, and we can't wait to teach them how to prepare these vegetables and enjoy them as part of a delicious meal.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making these meaningful learning experiences possible. It's amazing how much of a difference a little comfort and the right tech can make in a student's day. We are so incredibly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nWhen the new carpet was first unrolled, the reaction was pure joy. The students were thrilled to ditch the cold, hard floor for something soft and vibrant. We have a \"Favorite Square\" Phenomenon: Each student immediately claimed a \"favorite\" color square. It's become their designated home base during lessons. We recently used the carpet's grid pattern during a guidance lesson to divide the class into small \"neighborhoods.\" This visual layout made transition time seamless and ensured that teamwork was built right into the structure of the activity.\r\n\r\nIn our digital media lab, the wireless microphones have been a complete game-changer. Before, our audio was a bit of a \"guess what they said\" game. Now, our student creators feel like professionals. We just wrapped up recording segments for our upcoming Awards Assembly. Now that we have the right tools, here is what we are working on next:\r\n\r\nThe Assembly Premiere: Students are currently in the editing phase of the awards video, learning how to sync that high-quality audio with their visuals. We are planning a new series of \"Carpet Chats\" where students will use their designated squares to practice peer-to-peer conflict resolution and collaborative problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students a comfortable place to sit and a powerful way to be heard. Not only are the stories easy and fun for my students, it also includes some phonological practices at the end of the stories. The simplicity of these books encouraged the students to want to read as they are still working on CVC words along with grade-appropriate sight words. \r\n\r\nThe Short Vowel Letter Tiles Set with Double-Sided Flash Cards was also a huge success. We've transformed spelling into a friendly competition, with students flipping cards and racing to write words on their whiteboards. Seeing them so deeply engaged is a joy to be able witness.\r\n\r\nFinally, the Pattern Blocks have opened up a world of creativity. It is a beautiful thing to watch a student use their imagination to build complex shapes, completely unaware that they are mastering spatial reasoning and geometry in the process.
