Students are building their fine motor skills and spatial awareness while engaging in hands-on STEM play. It's a joy to watch them experiment with invisible forces and see their excitement when their structures defy gravity.\r\n\r\nThe Spinning Chair: This piece of equipment provides essential sensory input that helps students regulate and focus. Whenever I tell my students I've got things, or bought them new materials and supplies for our class, they get very excited, and tend to be on their best behavior, try their best in their classwork and assignments, and most importantly, attend school. One of the biggest issues that affect my school's academic performance is chronic absenteeism where students have 15 or more absences during the school year. Most of the time, their absences are out of teachers' control. My school and our counselors have adopted some initiatives and attendance policies and procedures in order to tackle this problem. As a teacher, it's constantly communicating with the parents about the importance of bringing their child to school daily, and constantly engaging with my students in order for them to want to come to school every single day.
