Aloha all, I am a special education preschool teacher this year on the Waianae Coast of the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We have 16 students with special needs ranging in age from three to five. These students come from a variety of socioeconomic status families, but most of them are in the lower socioeconomic status. Our community is a small rural community between the towns of Nanakuli and Waianae. Our school is preschool through sixth grades and all students are receiving free breakfast and lunch this year. We are a Title I school with around 1000 students this year.
