Watching them make choices about color, composition, and design was a joy. These are students who sometimes struggle to find confidence in traditional academic tasks, and seeing them take ownership of a canvas was a powerful reminder of what's possible when we give kids the right tools.\r\n\r\nThe supplies aren't a one-time thing. We're weaving art projects throughout the semester to bring creativity and engagement to topics that can otherwise feel out of reach for my students. The clear bins provide a place for individual activities to be stored and seen. The students are able to see what is in each bin, before taking them from the shelf. The shelf changes out the old wooden shelf that is over 50 years old, and has been starting to fall apart. We are able to purchase the smaller activities with school and various grant monies, however, shelving units are not easily aquired through usual funds. This system gives her easy access to her favorite books, and she has started requesting her wants—something that was very rare before. The lightweight design makes it easy for her to use independently.\r\n\r\nThis project made it possible for our preschool students to bring their colorful imaginations to life, and they are so proud of their artwork.
