Just a little background for you. I've completed the project with students a handful of times, and while it goes well, the students always ask the same question: \"Why don't you get more games?\" I let them know that the school can only cover so much, and that oftentimes the supplies we need to teach every day are more important. So, we work with what we have, and while the past experiences have not been bad, by any means, the lack of materials extends the time it takes to complete the project. Which brings me to now. \r\nLast week, I introduced the project. And by having the game sets you supplied for the classroom, every student had a chance to be a part of the project at the same time. I had a feeling the reactions would be excitable, but I wasn't prepared for the excitement. \r\nThe simple act of removing the plastic and opening the game was like watching kids open Christmas or birthday presents. It was absolutely energizing. We'll continue to charge through the process and see how well they demonstrate their learning. Thank you again. This means more than I can describe.","fullyFundedDate":1761924350351,"projectUrl":"project/critical-analysis-and-evalution-through/9849398/","projectTitle":"Critical Analysis and Evalution through Games","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Glasser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10324945"},{"teacherId":5172412,"projectId":9140865,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our Monarch Butterfly project. The students were so excited when they received their chrysalis boxes! They received them right after the completed state testing, which was such a nice reward at the end of a long day. \r\n\r\nEach student received their own chrysalis box and were able to observe their chrysalis over the period of several days, until the butterfly enclosed. With this project students learned about the anatomy of a butterfly, life cycle of a butterfly, where butterflies fit into food webs, and conservation. Additionally, we studied ecosystems and how monarch butterflies contribute to the ecosystem that they're a part of. Lastly, students documented their changing chrysalises with photos and writing everyday of our project. Then they created presentations based on their research on butterflies, as well as their real life observations for our final science project. Some students even went on to learn more about monarch butterflies and taught the class about their migration patterns, as well as issues that they are facing in North America. Families and friends were invited to our final presentations. \r\n\r\nThank you again for making this project possible.
