Students are using the new whiteboards, dry erase markers, and erasers daily for math practice, phonics activities, and quick checks for understanding. The laminator and laminating sheets have allowed me to create durable learning tools—such as reusable math mats, phonics cards, and center activities—that students can use independently. The colorful Astrobrights paper, posters, and flashcards have enhanced our lessons and helped visual learners stay engaged, while the classroom rug has become a favorite spot for read-alouds and group discussions using our new books.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. They were especially thrilled by the new books, snacks, and bright classroom decor, and they couldn't wait to explore everything. Several students eagerly pointed out the new posters on the walls and asked when we could start using the whiteboards and bins. The electric pencil sharpener and organized supply bins made everyday routines smoother, and students felt proud having tools that made our classroom feel \"official\" and special.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students now have what they need to move confidently into our next lessons. We are continuing to build strong literacy and math skills through small-group instruction, hands-on practice, and independent work using these resources. The books are supporting both reading skills and social-emotional learning, sparking meaningful conversations about kindness, emotions, and self-control. These materials will continue to support our students throughout the year, helping them grow academically while feeling safe, supported, and excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1761000009117,"projectUrl":"project/1st-year-teacher-donors-choose/9840805/","projectTitle":"1st Year Teacher-Donors Choose","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morgan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10316979"},{"teacherId":3205999,"projectId":9782531,"letterContent":"I want to share some of the projects my students have been doing with the supplies you gave us! The impact of the new resources has been immediate and truly inspiring for our English Language Learner students. When they first saw the vibrant colored pencils and the large tubs of phonics letter tiles, their eyes lit up with excitement and awe. What's most wonderful is that the novelty hasn't worn off—my students are excited to use these tools every single day, which shows how much these high-quality resources mean to them.\r\n\r\nWe are currently combining our new phonics letters to build academic vocabulary words, and then illustrating those words in detail using the colored pencils and paper. This multi-sensory approach is making abstract words concrete and is boosting their confidence in both art and language. The biggest impact is that we are now using these materials to directly practice for the WIDA Assessment (ACCESS for ELLs), which is coming up soon. The hands-on practice with our new supplies is creating a low-stress, engaging environment for them to show what they know.\r\n\r\nThe next exciting step for our class is to focus our material use on the Speaking and Writing domains of the WIDA test. Students will use their vocabulary illustrations and newly acquired materials to practice describing people, places, and events in complete sentences, a key skill required for the assessment. Your contribution has empowered them to tackle challenging language tasks with confidence and creativity, and we are so grateful for your support in preparing our students to be successful.","fullyFundedDate":1759620774973,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-tomorrows-artists/9774471/","projectTitle":"Tools for Tomorrow’s Artists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9164916_orig.jpg?crop=827,827,x0,y400&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724098711289","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9164916"},{"teacherId":9807996,"projectId":9216031,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support in providing toys, reinforcers, and supplies to make this year a great year in speech therapy! Clay dough was another engaging tool, especially for those who needed a sensory activity to help regulate their emotions. Many students found it calming, and they used it to create symbols or shapes that represented their feelings, thus offering insights into their emotional states.
