Your contribution is already making a lasting impact on our school community.\r\n\r\nRecently, our students had the opportunity to use the Cricut Machine to create a beautiful Easter photo backdrop, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative. Not only did the project allow our students to explore their creativity, but it also encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Watching the students collaborate, plan, and bring their ideas to life was truly inspiring. The finished backdrop was a true labor of love; where it was used at their Reading Egg-stravaganza Event, providing families with wonderful photo opportunities and creating lasting memories.\r\n\r\nYour thoughtful gift has opened up a world of possibilities for our students. It has introduced them to modern design tools, helped them develop valuable skills, and boosted their confidence in their creative abilities. More importantly, it has brought our school community closer together, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support, and we look forward to all the future projects and opportunities that your generous donation will provide.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a meaningful difference in our school.","fullyFundedDate":1742159876177,"projectUrl":"project/creativity-with-a-cricut/9173950/","projectTitle":"Creativity with a Cricut.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. T","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7824070"},{"teacherId":9804497,"projectId":9158037,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity in allowing me to purchase products and tools to support the learning of my 20 students in counseling sessions for Executive Function skills, Social Emotional Learning skills, and their own emotional needs. A standout moment was our \"DNA Extraction Lab,\" where students used the donated lab kits, microscope, test tubes, and other materials to conduct real scientific investigations. What made this experience even more meaningful is that many of my students come from communities where hands-on opportunities like this aren't often available. These supplies did more than just support a lesson—they sparked curiosity and helped students truly see themselves as young scientists. We're incredibly thankful to the generous donors who made this experience a reality. \r\n\r\n When the boxes arrived, my students were buzzing with curiosity. As we unpacked the materials—they couldn't believe it was for them. As we set everything up, they were so careful and respectful—like little scientists in a real lab. You could feel the excitement. \r\n\r\n The next steps for our project, Empowering Young Scientists at Our Middle School, focus on putting our new lab resources into action through engaging, hands-on learning. Students will begin by exploring lab safety and becoming familiar with the equipment through guided practice and science toolkit activities. Once comfortable, they'll work in small groups to design and carry out their own mini-investigations based on topics that spark their curiosity—like testing water quality, studying plant growth, or observing chemical changes. Each student will maintain a science journal to document their experiments, observations, and reflections. We'll culminate our learning with a classroom science showcase where students will present their projects to peers, staff, and families. This not only strengthens their communication skills but also builds confidence in their scientific abilities.","fullyFundedDate":1739368019611,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-scientists-at-our-middl/8916814/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Scientists at Our Middle School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ohayas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9813912"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_50914","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":694,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":30,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.2,"schoolId":50914,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wahiawa Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wahiawa Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/hawaii/central-oahu-school-district/wahiawa-middle-school/50914"}
