Their eyes lit up as we unpacked the boxes filled with colorful dividers, shiny new computer mice, bright reward stickers, and the rainbow fraction tiles. They immediately started asking, \"Can we use these today?\" The excitement in the room was contagious and every student wanted a turn to explore, organize, and learn with our new materials.\r\n\r\nWe've already put these resources to great use in our lessons. The wired mice have made using our laptops so much easier. The students can click, drag, and type faster during reading and math programs. The folders and dividers have been a game changer for keeping their work neat, and the teacher stamp and stickers have become instant favorites. They love seeing them on their graded papers as a sign of accomplishment. The Rainbow Blank Fraction Tiles have made math more hands-on and fun. Students work in pairs to compare fractions, build wholes, and solve fraction puzzles that once seemed confusing. \r\n\r\nThese materials have brought a new sense of excitement, pride, and independence to our classroom. My students are learning to take ownership of their work and feel confident in their progress. Our next steps include using the fraction tiles to create a math center focused on fractions and equal parts, and designing new anchor charts using the chart paper to guide our lessons. Thanks to your generosity, my students have the tools and the motivation they need to make this a year full of growth and success.","fullyFundedDate":1755601987244,"projectUrl":"project/from-fractions-to-folders-fueling-3rd-g/9233980/","projectTitle":"From Fractions to Folders: Fueling 3rd Grade Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3751026_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684381628984","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-harris-3rd-wbes"},{"teacherId":3751026,"projectId":9358624,"letterContent":"My students have been so excited to explore our new TIME for Kids magazines. Each issue introduces them to new vocabulary, nonfiction text features, and current events that spark rich conversations in the classroom. The financial literacy bonus issues are already helping students think critically about money, choices, and responsibility.\r\n\r\nReading now looks a little different in our room. Students gather together, magazine in hand, pointing out bold words, captions, and interesting photographs as they practice close reading skills. They use graphic organizers, write thoughtful responses, and even share \"news anchor\" presentations with their peers. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they engage with texts that feel relevant and important to them.\r\n\r\nOne of my students who often struggled to stay engaged during silent reading now looks forward to TIME for Kids day each week. He proudly volunteers to read aloud articles and share what he learned, and his classmates cheer him on. Others are beginning to connect what they read in the magazine to topics in science and social studies, making their learning deeper and more meaningful. They opened their pouches with big smiles, looking through each item and even comparing with their classmates. For many of them, this was the first time they had their own set of hygiene products at school, and you could see the pride on their faces as they carefully organized their items. One student whispered, \"Now I don't have to worry about not having what I need,\" which was such a powerful reminder of how much this project means.\r\n\r\nMy students have already started using the kits in our classroom, and they have made a huge difference. Students discreetly use their chapstick, deodorant, or wipes as needed, which helps them feel more comfortable and confident throughout the school day. The pencil pouches keep everything organized and easy to access, and I've noticed how much more focused students are when they feel fresh and cared for. This project has not only supported their health and well-being but has also sparked conversations about self-care, confidence, and responsibility.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students now have what they need to feel their best at school every day. For students who needed extra support—such as English language learners or those with attention challenges—this technology offered a quiet, controlled way to engage with content at their own pace, boosting both their confidence and academic growth.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most about the new headphones is the sense of independence and ownership over their learning. Many are thrilled to dive into interactive lessons. One student, for example, who previously struggled to stay focused during reading time, now eagerly plugs in to listen to narrated stories and follow along with text—something he calls his \"reading adventure time.\" Another student, shy about speaking in class, has found her voice through pronunciation and language apps, practicing with her headphones on until she feels ready to share aloud.
