I am a teacher for the blind and visually impaired in Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. I don't have a "classroom" exactly. I am an itinerant teacher, which means that I travel from school to school within the county to work with my students. I am housed, however, at White Bluff Elementary School. I currently have thirteen students on my caseload in eight different schools throughout the county. I see students from kindergarten all the way up to high school. All of my students have varying degrees of visual impairment from glaucoma, to CVI (cortical visual impairment), legal blindness, to low vision. My students are amazing and they never cease to amaze me! They are hardworking and never let their disability stand in their way.
