I teach High School and many of my students benefit from a quick pick-me-up in the morning. They have rigorous routines of work, home, and school. Some students have to care for their younger siblings. Sometimes they don't have time to pack a snack for school. The bus comes at 6:30 and lunch isn't until 11. The access to snacks really helps.\r\nIn addition, the Spring Semester brings a great deal of mandatory state testing. From Advance Placement to CTAE End of Pathway Assessments, these students are often inundated with tests. A snack and a smile go a long way in the eyes of a child. \r\nWith your donations, I was able to fuel and feed over 140 students on my wing. They were very grateful. I was also able to load up the track team with snacks for their season opener. Westside High School is blessed to have such generous donors commit its students. School starts extremely. Buses come late. Some students have to make sure that their younger siblings get on the bus. Therefore sometimes they always have time to get breakfast or even grab a snack on the way out the door. Sometimes a snack is needed.\r\n\r\nThe Buddy Bags were an effort to aleviate mid morning hunger and make the students feel wanted. My class and club donated the Buddy Bags filled with snacks and toiletries to the track team and various students throughout the school just to show that we understand and we care. The resources have helped make our marketing lessons more engaging and hands-on.\r\n\r\nStudents are currently working on a project focused on understanding the purpose and value of marketing research. In small groups, they are creating surveys, collecting data from classmates, and identifying different sources of marketing information. They then analyze their data and use their findings to make recommendations for business and marketing decisions.\r\n\r\nThe students were very curious and motivated when they first explored the materials, and they quickly began applying them to their research activities. Students felt a strong sense of pride and fulfillment, and many shared how meaningful it was to witness the appreciation and gratitude of the families they served.\r\n\r\nThis project extended far beyond providing meals. It fostered important lessons in empathy, teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility. Students discovered that even small acts of kindness can create a powerful ripple effect, especially during challenging times, and that service has the ability to build connection and hope within a community.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our students were able to transform compassion into action and gratitude into service. Thank you for believing in them and for helping us share hope, dignity, and care throughout the Thanksgiving season.
