We are using our new flexible seating the stools and bean bag chair to create Focus Zones around the room. In one of the photos I shared, you can see our students working collaboratively at their stations. Because they now have the freedom to choose a seating arrangement that feels comfortable for their bodies, I've noticed a significant decrease in fidgeting and an increase in time-on-task.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have been a complete game-changer for our digital literacy block. A specific moment that stands out was during our last independent reading session: a student who usually struggles with auditory distractions put on their new headphones, settled into a comfortable spot, and was so immersed in their digital story that they didn't even hear the transition bell! That kind of deep focus was exactly what we were hoping to achieve. When the boxes arrived, it felt like a second birthday for the classroom! The students were incredibly curious, and their faces lit up when they realized these items weren't just for display, but for them to use every day. There was an immediate rush to try out the bean bag chair, and one student even remarked, \"It feels so much easier to think when I'm comfortable.\" They truly felt seen and respected as individual learners.\r\n\r\nNow that we have our environment optimized for focus, we are moving into a research project. Students will be using their headphones to engage with interactive science modules on their devices while utilizing their preferred seating to stay comfortable during longer periods of research. We are also practicing \"Self-Regulation Check-ins,\" where students reflect on which seating option helped them do their best work that day. Your support didn't just buy stuff, it provided the physical and mental space for my students to take ownership of their learning. Thank you for making our classroom a place where every learner can thrive!","fullyFundedDate":1754094691992,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-comfortable-and-focused-learn/9278437/","projectTitle":"Creating a Comfortable and Focused Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ketchup","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4745394_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1587866871926","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4745394"},{"teacherId":4745394,"projectId":9879138,"letterContent":"Because of your support, our classroom has been buzzing with the energy of a professional lab. While many of us use technology for screens and entertainment at home, these STEM kits have shown my students that technology is a tool for creation. Instead of just consuming media, they are using the robotics kits and building sets to understand the \"how\" behind the world. They are learning that engineering isn't just a career in a textbook; it's something they can do with their own hands by snapping circuits together or designing a structural base for a garden.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part of this new equipment has undoubtedly been the hands-on \"wow\" factor. The National Geographic Volcano Kit was a massive hit. My students weren't just reading about chemical reactions, they were hearing the pop of the crystals and seeing the eruption happen in real-time. Even the Play-Doh and flower-building sets have transformed our design sessions. Students who used to struggle with abstract concepts are now thinking with their hands, using the modeling clay to build prototypes of their ideas before they ever put a pencil to paper.\r\n\r\nI have been especially moved by a few of my more reserved students who have truly blossomed with these resources. One student, who often feels overwhelmed by traditional reading and writing tasks, became a natural leader during our robotics build. The tactile nature of the STEM kits allowed him to show off his problem-solving intuition, and his confidence has soared as his peers now look to him for help. With the new printer ink, we've been able to print out photos of their successes and the data charts they've created, giving them a tangible sense of pride in their official scientific work. Thank you for giving them the tools to see themselves as the innovators of tomorrow.","fullyFundedDate":1765977487140,"projectUrl":"project/igniting-imagination-with-stem-tools-and/9879138/","projectTitle":"Igniting Imagination With STEM Tools and Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ketchup","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4745394_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1587866871926","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4745394"},{"teacherId":8470230,"projectId":8355285,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in providing cleaning materials for our classroom!
