Your generous donation is being utilized by two sets of classes, almost 40 third graders. In this Donor's Choose project there were some very necessary items. The items fell into two important buckets: 1) were resources and supplies to help my students to be successful third graders; and 2) were items that addressed and highlighted my students' social-emotional beings. \r\nFirst, let me tell you about the student resource items, how they are being used, and how they are helping to contribute to the success of my students. One of the resource items you helped to fund were special 'telescoping binders', which are light weight, fold and bend easily, and can hold up to 200 pages. These binders are the students' at-school' binders which we use to keep their writing projects, Language Arts and grammar pages, and Reading anchor charts that they can review throughout the year. They are super durable and do not take up a lot of space. We utilize our binders daily. Additionally, the hanging file folders are used as an organizational tool to keep all the students work together throughout the day, especially at their small group stations.\r\nThe second bucket of items were used to create a classroom environment to foster positivity, inclusivity, as well as a love of self and of learning. I strive very hard to ensure my students feel seen and valued. They are constantly reminded of how important they are and are motivated at every turn to be the best little person and student they can be. As they continue to grow as young learners, I want them to remember to treat others kindly and fairly. This is important because that is what they should expect as well. Thus, the growth mindset sign, the different borders and the throw pillow covers are all a constant reminder of the positive and welcoming classroom environment that has been carefully and thoughtfully prepared for them.\r\nOnce again, we thank you truly for your donation to this project.
