I chose a variety of seating options, such as foam throw pillows, lap desks, and Gaiam Kids Stay-N-Play Children's Balance Balls to allow my students the opportunity to feel comfortable to make choices about how they learn in the classroom. The adjustable metal table will be used for teacher and student conferences to make the classroom atmosphere a positive and open one. These will be used on a daily basis to give First Graders (who are very active!) a chance to complete their work in a setting where they can feel comfortable expressing themselves. I have also seen that it surprisingly helps monitor classroom volume, which has been a struggle for me. I have spent a lot of my money on books for my classroom, but would really love some materials to help support engagement.
