I teach Technology at a Title 1 school in Tucker, Georgia, which is wonderfully diverse. While the addition of these BeeBots may seem small, the opportunities they present for my students are truly limitless.\r\n\r\nFor instance, the BeeBots will empower my Kindergarten and 1st-grade students to strengthen their foundational reading skills, such as identifying letters and spelling CVC words. Additionally, my upper-level students will design BeeBot maps that can be utilized by the younger grades. This hands-on experience with these physical computers allows me to teach problem-solving techniques alongside the Design Engineering process.\r\n\r\nThe excitement and joy my students displayed when they opened the box were indescribable! They love programming the BeeBots and eagerly anticipate whether they will reach their intended destination. They also enjoy recording their voices on the devices.\r\n\r\nIn closing, I aspire to ignite a passion for Technology in my students, and thanks to State Farm, you are now part of that spark! Your support is greatly appreciated, and it highlights how much my students enjoy using the BeeBots.","fullyFundedDate":1741096139697,"projectUrl":"project/world-changers-with-bee-bots/8992698/","projectTitle":"World Changers With Bee Bots","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Armstrong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4277630"},{"teacherId":8491643,"projectId":9117396,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity and the incredible support of the SONIC Foundation, our classroom is now buzzing with focused learning instead of background distractions. The new headphones have transformed the way my students interact with technology. Instead of competing with the noise of 20 other devices, each child can now fully engage with digital reading programs, phonics lessons, and math games. This allows them to work at their own pace, replay instructions, and hear every detail clearly, something that makes all the difference for our emerging readers and English language learners.\r\nThe excitement was instant! Students couldn't wait to put on their new headphones and dive into their assignments. They love feeling like \"real scientists\" when researching, \"podcast hosts\" during reading fluency recordings, and \"gamers\" when working on interactive math challenges. I've noticed a big boost in confidence, especially for a few students who used to shy away from reading aloud now, they happily record themselves and listen back to improve their skills.\r\nBecause of the SONIC Foundation's gift, I've also been able to offer more targeted small-group instruction while the rest of the class works independently and confidently. Your kindness hasn't just provided a tool it's created a more personalized, distraction-free learning space where every child can shine.
