The materials that I am requesting for my students are materials that many students get to take for granted: Chrome Books. Even within our school, Third through Fifth Grade students have 1:1 access to Chrome Books. However, for us First Graders, we are lucky to get iPads once a week. If we had even just one Chome Book, we could accomplish so much! We will be able to take Accelerated Reader tests online (which have not had access to thus far this year). Additionally, we would be able to schedule individual time online. While we won't have as much access as we'd like, having twenty minutes each twice a week is better than having no access to technology at all. Donations to this project will provide my students to access to the 21 Century Skills they will need to be successful adults! Learning how to navigate online is a skill almost as fundamental as reading in today's day and age. A Chomebook in our room will be one of our most treasured posentions, second only to the books in our classroom library.
