The color printer has allowed me to create bright, engaging center activities, picture supports, and visual schedules that help my young learners better understand new skills. Having colorful resources keeps their attention and makes learning more meaningful, especially for early readers and students who rely on visual cues.\r\n\r\nThe Magna-Tiles have quickly become one of the most loved tools in our classroom. My students use them to build letters, numbers, shapes, and creative structures. While they are having fun, they are also building important skills like problem-solving, fine-motor strength, teamwork, and spatial awareness. These tiles have made hands-on learning exciting every single day.\r\n\r\nThe privacy folders have also been extremely helpful. Many kindergarteners get easily distracted during independent work, and these folders give them a calm, private space to focus. Students who used to struggle with staying on task are now more confident and successful because they can work without distractions.\r\n\r\nOverall, these items have helped my students learn, grow, and stay engaged in ways that were not possible before. They feel proud of their work, excited to learn, and supported every step of the way. My second graders began using the oil pastels right away to create cactus still life drawings; and my kindergarteners used them to make beautiful, colorful sombreros as part of our unit for Hispanic Heritage Month. But the creativity didn't stop there. The first graders were really challenged to think outside of the box when it came to making animals with leaves complimented by matching backgrounds.\r\nMy third graders enjoyed making wax resist landscape art with crayons and watercolors. While my fourth graders stretched their imaginations by painting colorful line designs and patterns on their cardboard bird sculptures. Now, my fifth grade students are learning about shading and value while making beautiful winter bell drawings incorporating oil pastels and colored pencils.\r\nWatching my students blossom and grow artistically is so wonderful and it's thanks to you that we have the supplies to do it with.","fullyFundedDate":1756137705949,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-the-arts/9494139/","projectTitle":"Exploring the Arts","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Drukman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2442803"},{"teacherId":8695668,"projectId":9382762,"letterContent":"When the phonics games arrived, the energy in our classroom shifted immediately. Students crowded around the materials, their eyes wide with curiosity and excitement. What might look like simple cards and boards to an adult became treasures to my kindergarteners—tools that made learning feel like play. The moment we opened the boxes, children were asking, \"Can we try this one now?\" and diving into activities that targeted beginning sounds, letter recognition, vocabulary, and phonemic awareness.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments came during a small-group lesson when a student who often hesitates to participate picked up a card and confidently matched a picture to its beginning sound. The pride on their face was unmistakable, and the group erupted in cheers. These games have created opportunities for students to encourage one another, celebrate small victories, and build confidence in skills that are the foundation of literacy.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our journey into blending sounds and forming words. Because of your generosity, my students are not only practicing essential skills—they are experiencing the joy of discovery, the thrill of success, and the comfort of knowing that learning can be fun. Your support has given us more than materials; it has given us moments of growth and joy that will stay with my students as they become readers.","fullyFundedDate":1752875753398,"projectUrl":"project/fun-with-phonics/9382762/","projectTitle":"Fun with Phonics!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kendrick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8695668_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683909299465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8695668"},{"teacherId":8695668,"projectId":9254559,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed by the arrival of Mo Willems' beloved books. These stories are not only fun and engaging, but they also serve as powerful teaching tools for early literacy. \r\n\r\nWillems' books are perfect for teaching story structure, students quickly recognize beginnings, middles, and endings. The playful dialogue helps us practice fluency and expression, as children take turns reading with character voices. Repetition and predictable text patterns build sight word recognition and phonemic awareness. Themes of friendship, problem-solving, and emotions give us opportunities to discuss social-emotional learning alongside literacy.\r\n\r\nReading time is joyful and interactive. Students gather on the carpet, eagerly predicting what Elephant & Piggie will do next or laughing at Pigeon's antics. We use these books for shared reading, where I model strategies like pointing to words, sounding out, and using illustrations for context clues. Students then practice independently or in small groups, often re-reading favorites to build confidence.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were hesitant readers have blossomed with these texts. One child who rarely volunteered now proudly reads Piggie's lines with dramatic flair, while another who struggled with decoding is finding success through the repetition in Pigeon books. The humor and relatability of Willems' characters make reading feel less like a challenge and more like a celebration.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom library now reflects the kind of books that spark joy, laughter, and growth. You've given my students not just stories, but stepping stones toward becoming lifelong readers.","fullyFundedDate":1746701385728,"projectUrl":"project/books-books-books/9254559/","projectTitle":"Books!
