Your contributions have greatly impacted the students learning experience and understanding of the fundamental pre-chemistry concepts. I introduced the Structure of an Atom using paper plates and 2 different color bingo daubers to represent the protons and neutrons and smaller size bingo dauber to represent the electrons. I also gave them the option to use different color and size beads to create an atom model. This hands-on engaging laboratory stem activity engaged students as well visually and artistically learn and understand the atomic structure of an atom. Then each of the atoms were cut out and placed in life size paper object to demonstrate the uses for each atom and element. So, for students who created Neon and Neon OPEN sign was created, for Phosphorus and Aluminum an Aluminum soda can was created, 2 Oxygen-diatomic atoms were bonded to demonstrate the air. For Nitrogen, a glass cleaner bottle was created. For Magnesium, Milk of Magnesia was created and for Silicon, a tub of silicon used in construction was created. All of these life size objects were placed on the wall outside the classroom for all students, faculty and staff to see. We then completed our \"Isotope Pennium\" lab using magnifying glasses, pennies and a digital scale with AAA batteries. In teams, the students created \"The Periodic Table of Elements\" the right way using color tiled manipulatives. Our next activity was \"Bonding with a Classmate\" in which each student the received a yarn necklace with either a laminated cation or an anion card and they had to go bond with another student to satisfy the stable, bonded octet rule. As we are 8 weeks into the semester, we are going more in depth and building on our content, our next activity we will be \"Extracting Iron from Cereal\", making Ice Cream, Oobleck, Elephant Toothpaste, Slime, How to Make Kool-Aid the Right Way, Electric House, Balloon Car, Stick house and Imploding Can lab. All of these engaging stem laboratory activities have and will be made possible because of the donation and essential resources need to complete them. Again, we thank you and look forward to being able to continue these performing these activities for the greater good hands on and phones off.","fullyFundedDate":1753855134945,"projectUrl":"project/learning-physical-science-of-energy-and/9510334/","projectTitle":"Learning Physical Science of Energy and Matter","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wesson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2062754_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762419645645","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2062754"},{"teacherId":9689822,"projectId":9138987,"letterContent":"My students are so grateful for the headphones, Clorox wipes, clickers, and most of all the printer. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and to share how we are utilizing the new resources in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe use the keyboard every day for our vocal warm-ups, which assist our students with intonation and learning vocal parts. The bluetooth option has been especially helpful, allowing us to play the accompaniment tracks through the keyboard seamlessly.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were ecstatic! They were so happy to see that our old keyboard had been replaced with a newer model that doesn't have any sticking keys.\r\n\r\nThrough your contributions as a donor, you have assisted us with progressing towards our semester goals. Currently, our chorus students are preparing for the Large Group Performance Evaluation, where we will perform two pieces of music and be judged on the overall quality. Additionally, we have sight-read a new piece of music to showcase our mastery of music theory and aural skills. We are also gearing up for our Spring Concert, where students will perform the pieces they've been learning.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1736450148293,"projectUrl":"project/replacement-keyboard-for-beginning-choru/8776977/","projectTitle":"Replacement Keyboard for Beginning Chorus Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Griffin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3021999"},{"teacherId":8163075,"projectId":8645347,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the Living Kwanzaa Museum has provided students with an immersive, hands-on experience celebrating the principles of Kwanzaa and their connection to African and African-American culture.
