In our school physical education community, there is always an emphasis on football and basketball. In my efforts to foster global students, they need more exposure to other games worldwide. They need the opportunity to see if they would even enjoy something like corn-hole or table tennis. The first time I exposed my students to ultimate frisbee, I brought all the equipment from home. They loved it! When I brought in my corn-hole set, they were all over it! But having a class of fifty students and one set will not work. They love badminton as well. There is a tendency to assume students from certain ethnic backgrounds only like certain sports. This new equipment will also allow us to reach those students who do not like basketball or football.
