Thanks to you, something truly special has taken root at my school—a project that proves how kindness, team work, and community can grow from the simplest of ideas. \r\n\r\nYour generous donation allowed so many people to take part in the Little Free Library at Berrien High School. This project quickly became a labor of love across the entire campus. Several young men from the welding and agriculture department rolled up their sleeves and constructed the library box within hours. A group of art students weather-proofed and painted the little library. The students Graphic Arts and Design volunteered to print fliers to place inside the box. By combining skills from multiple departments, students learned more than how to build or paint—they learned about generosity, teamwork, and how the power of reading can bring people together. \r\nThe project is a model of what education should be: hands-on, collaborative, and heart-centered. \r\n\r\nEven students felt the impact of the project. \"It made me realize that we're not just building something for school,\" said Mckee Baker, a senior in my British Literature class. \"We're building something for our whole community. Someone we don't even know might read a book from here and feel better.\" \r\n\r\nStudents are bringing books from home to keep the library stocked with fun and exciting reading material. My students have already contributed almost one hundred books. When asked if they wanted to donate their own books to the Little Free Library, students didn't hesitate.\r\n\r\nBHS now has a chartered Little Free Library on the world-wide map, thanks to you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity. Because of your donation, so many people in this community will have books in their homes.
