Because of your generosity, our first-grade students had the opportunity to create and perform a meaningful musical puppet show that combined art, music, and community action.\r\n\r\nWith your support, we were able to purchase clip lights for our puppet show screen, along with wooden dowels and heavy cardstock for shadow puppet making. These resources allowed students to design their own superhero food puppets—characters they imagined would fight hunger in our community. The moment the students saw the materials, their eyes lit up with excitement. They could hardly wait to bring their puppets to life, and their creativity soared as they cut, glued, and assembled their unique characters.\r\n\r\nThe puppets gave our students a powerful voice to share their story about food insecurity, a challenge many in our community face. By using shadow puppetry and music, they were able to express big ideas in a way that felt safe, fun, and empowering. We partnered with our local food bank, and the performance not only inspired families to take action but also gave our students the confidence to know they can make a difference.\r\n\r\nThis project doesn't end here. As our first graders move on to second grade, they will continue their work by brainstorming and developing real-world solutions to help with food insecurity. Thanks to your gift, you've not only supported a performance—you've sparked a movement of young problem-solvers who are already thinking about how to care for their neighbors and community.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our students, thank you for believing in their creativity, their voices, and their power to change the world.","fullyFundedDate":1745001564106,"projectUrl":"project/raising-voices-a-musical-puppet-show-on/9215635/","projectTitle":"Raising Voices: A Musical Puppet Show on Food Insecurity!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blankson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6788553_orig.jpg?crop=350,350,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1595619077756","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6788553"},{"teacherId":199894,"projectId":9022518,"letterContent":"On behalf of our students and the entire school community, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation of a LEGO robot and expansion set.
