Each morning, Scholars arrive eager to put on their hats and gloves before heading outside, and it has completely changed our outdoor learning time. Instead of rushing through recess because of the cold, students are now comfortable, focused, and able to fully engage in activities like our nature walks and weather observations. One especially memorable moment was when a Scholars who used to avoid going outside proudly zipped up their coat, put on their new gloves, and joined classmates on the seesaw—smiling the entire time.\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, the excitement was immediate and heartwarming. Scholars carefully chose their hats and gloves, many expressing how soft, warm, and \"just right\" they felt. For some, these were the first brand-new winter items they could call their own, which made the experience even more special. There was a sense of pride and belonging as everyone prepared together, and it helped build a stronger classroom community where students look out for one another—reminding friends to grab their gear and helping each other get ready.\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to incorporate outdoor learning into our daily routine, now that Scholars are properly equipped. We are beginning a unit on seasons and weather, where Scholars will observe changes in temperature, collect data, and even create simple journals about what they notice outside. Your support has not only kept our Scholars warm but has also opened the door for richer, more hands-on learning experiences. Thank you for helping us create a classroom where every Scholar feels comfortable, included, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1768502998002,"projectUrl":"project/warm-hands-warm-hearts-hats-and-gloves/9835822/","projectTitle":"Warm Hands, Warm Hearts: Hats and Gloves for Kindergarteners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Murphy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8697874_orig.jpg?crop=491,491,x0,y18&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673370499988","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8697874"},{"teacherId":5667071,"projectId":9503615,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and belief in our scholars. Many of our scholars come to school eager to learn, but sometimes face challenges that go beyond the classroom. Having access to clean clothes has given them a boost of confidence and comfort that truly shows in their smiles and focus each day. One student proudly said, \"Now I can come to school clean every day and not worry!\" Moments like that remind us just how powerful your kindness is.\r\n\r\nWe've already begun using the washer and dryer to support families in need and to ensure students always have access to fresh, clean uniforms. It's helping us maintain a sense of dignity and belonging for every child who walks through our doors.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to include lessons in responsibility and life skills by involving students in caring for our community laundry area. They're learning not only how to wash and dry clothes but also how to take care of shared spaces—a real-life extension of our lessons on respect and responsibility.\r\n\r\nYour donation did more than fund a project—it helped create a more caring, supportive school environment.
