They are exploring real-world applications of science, engineering, and digital media as they design, test, and refine their own recordings. In the process, students are building technical skills in audio production, mixing, and sound design alongside literacy and communication skills.\r\n\r\nMany of my students come from communities where their stories are often overlooked. This project gives them both the tools and the technical knowledge to share their ideas, cultures, and experiences with confidence and pride. Whether they are producing spoken word poetry, hosting student-led podcasts, presenting research, or engineering sound effects, students are learning that their voices matter—and that STEM can be a pathway for creativity and self-expression.\r\n\r\nBeyond building communication skills, this project fosters problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership. Students analyze sound quality, troubleshoot equipment, and apply engineering design thinking to improve their work.
