While many of our donors are familiar with using technology at home, these materials show how schools use simple tools to create a more personalized learning environment. Flexible seating gives students the choice to sit where they feel most focused, whether that's a wobble stool, a cozy chair, or a standing desk, helping them stay engaged and comfortable during lessons.\r\n\r\nThe headphones are especially exciting for students because they make independent learning easier. Whether they are working on math programs, reading activities, or listening to instructional videos, the headphones help reduce distractions and allow everyone to work at their own pace.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who normally struggle to stay on task have really warmed to these materials. One student who is easily distracted now stays focused for an entire lesson when using the headphones, while another who often felt restless is thriving in a flexible seating spot that lets them move while still learning. These small changes are making a big difference in their confidence and success.","fullyFundedDate":1746816489660,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-focus-and-organization-in-the/9090795/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Focus and Organization in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morgan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6330673_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1662485822693","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6330673"},{"teacherId":6330673,"projectId":9091145,"letterContent":"The new chess materials are making a real difference in how our students learn. Even though many of our donors use technology at home, they might be surprised at how this resource is used in school. Chess gives students a hands-on way to build critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. They aren't just learning the rules of a game, they're learning how to think ahead, adapt, and reflect on their decisions.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most is the challenge. The boards allow them to play, analyze their moves, and even compete in friendly matches. They love seeing their progress and finding new strategies with each game.\r\n\r\nSome students who are usually quiet or hesitant to participate have especially warmed to chess. One student who often struggles with confidence now eagerly teaches classmates new tactics, while another who finds math difficult uses chess to strengthen focus and pattern recognition. It's amazing to see how this technology opens doors for every learner. I'm excited to see how chess will help with testing scores near year end.","fullyFundedDate":1746787066873,"projectUrl":"project/building-young-minds-through-chess/9091145/","projectTitle":"Building Young Minds Through Chess","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morgan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6330673_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1662485822693","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6330673"},{"teacherId":1950340,"projectId":8937045,"letterContent":"The new computer and printer have opened up a world of possibilities for my students! What excites them the most is the ability to design and produce their own projects from start to finish. They're using the computer for research, writing, coding, and digital art—and then bringing their work to life by printing it out. Seeing their ideas turn into something they can hold, display, or share gives them a huge sense of pride.\r\n\r\nYes, several students have truly thrived since the computer and printer arrived. One student who typically shies away from group work has become our \"tech helper,\" guiding others through design software and helping with print jobs. Another student who struggles with fine motor tasks has found success in using the computer to express their creativity digitally—something they hadn't experienced before. This technology has really leveled the playing field and helped all of them shine in new ways.","fullyFundedDate":1733483076523,"projectUrl":"project/steaming-to-entrepreneurship/8937045/","projectTitle":"STEAMing to Entrepreneurship","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Venisee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1950340_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473260465498","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/venisee"},{"teacherId":6071987,"projectId":9316144,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in funding our classroom project. Because of your support, my students now have access to engaging new reading books, high-quality headphones, and hands-on learning tools such as mapping whiteboards. These resources have already begun transforming the way my students experience learning each day, and I cannot thank you enough for giving them these opportunities. When the boxes first arrived, the excitement in the room was almost impossible to contain. Students crowded around, curious about what could be inside. As soon as they saw the books, they immediately began choosing titles that sparked their interest, and it was such a joy to watch them hug their chosen books close, flipping through the pages with wonder. For many of my students, new books are a true luxury, and seeing their enthusiasm reminded me how powerful it is to put fresh, engaging texts directly into their hands. The headphones have been equally transformative. Before, students sometimes struggled to stay focused during independent reading time on our digital learning programs because the classroom could be noisy. Now, with the addition of high-quality headphones, they are able to block out distractions and fully engage with the stories and lessons on their screens. One student, who often found it hard to concentrate, put on the headphones and finished an entire digital story for the very first time. Afterwards, they shared their favorite part of the story with the class, beaming with pride. That moment was a turning point not only for that child's confidence but for the entire class, who saw how new tools could help them succeed.\r\n The mapping whiteboards have already added a new layer of engagement to our social studies and literacy lessons. We recently used them in a group project where students created maps of our school community. They carefully labeled landmarks, practiced giving each other directions, and then used the maps to tell little \"journeys\" around the school. It was amazing to watch them collaborate, problem-solve, and proudly display their finished work. The hands-on aspect made the learning both meaningful and memorable. These resources have not only improved our day-to-day classroom routines but have also inspired new possibilities for lessons moving forward. In the coming weeks, students will begin literature circles using the new books, which will give them opportunities to build comprehension, share their thinking, and practice speaking and listening skills. The whiteboards will continue to support our upcoming units in both math and social studies, where students will use mapping and drawing activities to deepen their understanding of space, direction, and community. Your support has given my students tools that promote independence, confidence, and joy in learning. Most importantly, you have reminded them that people beyond our classroom walls believe in their potential. Thank you for being such an important part of their educational journey.","fullyFundedDate":1749651778986,"projectUrl":"project/sound-it-out-spell-it-proud-tools-for/9316144/","projectTitle":"Sound It Out, Spell It Proud: Tools for Future Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Victoria hull","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6071987_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749912942211","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6071987"},{"teacherId":6199519,"projectId":8694767,"letterContent":"Your support for our grant is greatly appreciated.
