With the materials we are requesting, the Lit Lab reading teachers will have enough different devices to help our scholars with the challenges they face with reading. In literacy, there are two main battles: attaching sounds to letters/letter combinations and how we hear sounds. With the different materials, we have different devices to effectively teach both of these concepts. Our goal for our Literacy Lab scholars is that they will be able to see pictures and attach meaning to the sounds that they hear & speak. We are looking to help build our scholars both mentally and sonically. We would be able to take a stronger approach to this way of teaching with the materials because they will be used both virtually and in the classroom.
