One of our favorite moments so far was a design challenge where students worked in teams to build structures that could survive different \"weather\" conditions. They tested, adjusted, and redesigned their models while using academic vocabulary and scientific reasoning in authentic ways.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was immediate. Students were cheering, asking questions, and eager to start exploring. Many of them had never worked with materials like these before, so simply opening the boxes sparked curiosity, creativity, and a lot of meaningful conversation about what scientists and engineers do.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are building on that excitement by moving into student-led investigations. Our next step is having students apply what they've learned to solve real-world science problems, document their thinking, and present their designs to classmates.
