The day I received the dictionaries was such an exciting day! Thanksgiving break had just passed, and everyone was back at school ready to take on new challenges. One of my challenges was to get these books out to each student as quickly as possible, however even though my mind was set on delivering the books, my heart was full of joy knowing that caring people such as yourself are still interested in investing in young people. You may never meet these young people at my school but know that you have greatly impacted their futures! \r\n\r\nToday I was able to walk through multiple classrooms in which they were using the dictionaries. I stopped to ask a few students how the dictionary was helpful to them. Mind you, these are students that are learning the English language. Multiple students mentioned how the dictionaries help them to understand what words mean in their own languages. Another student, who just started less than a year ago at our school, hesitated at first to answer so I told her to think about it, and I would ask her again another day. A few minutes later, as I was preparing to walk out of the room, she ran up to me with the dictionary in hand and said with a big grin on her face, \"It helps me to know words better!\" This brought a smile to both her teacher and I and I gave her a hug for being able to vocalize her thoughts in English. The book she had in her hand helped her to do this! For her and many others, your thoughtfulness is playing an important part in bridging linguistic gaps and allowing students to communicate more effectively. Thank you on behalf of these and the many other students that we hope will be able to use these dictionaries! Best wishes to you and yours!","fullyFundedDate":1762781797005,"projectUrl":"project/a-book-that-can-help-open-new-learning-p/9713685/","projectTitle":"A Book That Can Help Open New Learning Possibilities.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Medina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10260842_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y485&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757893734510","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10260842"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46750","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":740,"numTeachers":65,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":51.7,"schoolId":46750,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kissimmee Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kissimmee Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/the-school-district-of-osceola-county/kissimmee-elementary-school/46750"}
