I had asked for help in providing resources for my students and you definitely came through for us. \r\nI had heard of the Envirothon competition and thought that a few students might be interested. We did not know what we were getting into as it was new for me as well. These students committed to staying after school 3 Wednesdays a month for 4 months. They were committed and they tried. I knew we did not have much of a chance as I later learned this was 3 years of college curriculum and this group of students was \"gen ed\" and had never been exposed to higher level content and questions of this caliber, and I told my students \"go have fun\". \r\nTheir efforts, commitment and excitement payed off. \r\nThey took 4th place overall and 1st in Soils!!!!!!\r\nThe supplies that you helped us purchase allowed my students an opportunity they will never forget. \r\nThey are all wanting to participate again next year, and next year I expect us to do even better :). It is surprising how much is needed at the start of every year. The supplies offered by the school continues to decrease and asking parents for grows ever more sensitive each year, so more falls on teachers to ensure the basics are provided. We can not do everything and therefore the help that you help to provide for us is essential, and I am always grateful.\r\nWe have already begun using all of the supplies. The hand sanitizer and tissues are already needed for noses and hands as germs and sniffles are spreading. The tools you've provided has had a profound impact on my students' learning. These tools, help my students engage with lessons and make connections to science and the real world. What excites my students the most is the ability to actively participate in their learning and being able to learn on their own terms, using dividers and fidgets to help them focus and whiteboards to respond when they don't like speaking but want to participate. Some of my students, particularly those who previously struggled with traditional methods, have really warmed to these tools and are already improving, using it to learn in the style that is best for them.
