The food items and hygiene products have had a profoundly positive impact on our learning environment, our daily routines, and our overall well-being.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, access to basic necessities is not always guaranteed. Having reliable food options has helped reduce stress and allowed students to stay focused, energized, and engaged throughout the day. It has also fostered a greater sense of stability and dignity, ensuring that no one has to learn on an empty stomach.\r\n\r\nLikewise, the hygiene products you supplied have made a meaningful difference. These items support personal comfort, health, and confidence—an especially important factor in a classroom where students are building independence and life skills. With these essentials readily available, students can participate more fully in class activities and feel more secure in their daily interactions.\r\n\r\nBeyond meeting physical needs, your generosity has helped create a more inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment. It has strengthened our classroom community and reminded us all that we are valued and cared for.\r\n\r\nThank you for your continued support and for making a real difference in the lives of our students. Now that we have received the gardening materials, students will begin by sorting and identifying each item, learning its purpose, and practicing how to use it safely. This stage helps build practical vocational skills while also reinforcing language, categorization, and following multi-step directions. Students will also work together to map out the layout of the garden beds, choose which plants to grow, and prepare the soil using the new tools.\r\n\r\nOnce the garden is set up, students will transition into a monthly routine that includes planting, watering, weeding, and monitoring growth. These hands-on tasks are intentionally structured to increase independence, build work stamina, and improve executive functioning skills such as planning, sequencing, and task completion. \r\n\r\nOverall, this gardening project will provide ongoing opportunities for our students to strengthen real-world job skills while contributing to the Inverness Farm program in a purposeful, age-appropriate way. Students are scrambling to prepare for multiple assessments, therefore, I was brainstorming ways in which i can incentivize or make my test preparation stand out from the rest of the school. The conclusion I came to was to encourage students to try their best with a promise of rewards if the score a perfect 5/5 on their US History End of Course Exam.\r\n\r\nThe results of the standardized assessment were better than I could even imagine. I have been teaching for 9 years, and this year's scores are the best I have ever had. Out of 154 students who were tested, 145 passed their assessment with a score of 3 or better. That is an astonishing 94% pass rate. Compared to the state of Florida, which has a 69% pass rate and well above our district pass rate of 74%. Of the 145 students who passed their test, almost 50% passed with the perfect 5/5 score. The generous gift will allow me to reward those students for their hard work and success on the assessment.","fullyFundedDate":1746648217783,"projectUrl":"project/positive-reinforcement/9084265/","projectTitle":"Positive Reinforcement","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Burton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9812539_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x321,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729699019529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9812539"},{"teacherId":8803071,"projectId":8752397,"letterContent":"I just wanted to take a moment to send a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation of candy to my classroom.
