My students work hard at learning how to read music and chords and learning how to transfer that knowledge to playing guitar. By using these acoustic/electric guitars we can amplify small groups of students, enabling them to perform in the school courtyard during the school day. They will play current music, mixed with a classical selection or two. This will be a positive experience for them and help the guitar program grow. A scheduled performance raises the expectation and makes students practice more because they have a goal to reach. Most importantly the students' confidence and esteem grow and may impact them for the rest of their lives. Music is a beautiful way to reach the most outgoing or reclusive teenager!
