Students in my classes get involved in various cultural projects that help deepen their connection to learning. Help students create party decorations such as papel picado and pinatas to help celebrate students' birthdays, and cultural holidays such as Day of the Dead and Cinco de Mayo. Help students part take in Carnival by giving them the opportunity to create a plaster mask of their own face for Carnival and make Day of the Dead drawings, paintings and decorations to celebrate their learning and cultural understanding. Having the opportunity to create and take ownership of their own learning is what drives student success in any language class!
