Easy access to disinfectant wipes allows for regular cleaning of high touch surfaces, helping reduce the spread of illness.\r\n\r\nWhen cleaning supplies are readily available, I now have created a table wiper duty to promote a sense of responsibility and awareness among the students. Students now wipe down their own spaces, reinforcing good hyenine habits. This not only helps keeps the classroom cleaner but also empowers students to take part in maintain their shared environment. \r\n\r\nFinally, having donated supplies eases the financial burden on teachers who often purchase these items out of pocket. It ensures the classrooms remain well stocked without diverting funds from other resources. There was a Chinese ribbon dance that my younger students learned as part of our Chinese New Year Celebration. Another class helped me unpack the parachute out in the PE area to see how big it really is. I almost couldn't get it back from them. Other students ran over to see if they could join us. I have no doubt that we will have a lot of fun using this helpful movement tool.\r\nMany of our youngest have trouble getting into a circle, and moving left and right together. The parachute truly helps them move up, down, left and right together. Seeing them smile when they saw the organized space was amazing. They finally feel like they are not wasting time locating classroom resources.\r\n\r\nFourth grade teachers put the new bins to use right away for a math unit on fractions. In the past, they wasted a lot of time looking for fraction tiles, pattern blocks and Cuisenaire rods or opting not use them at all. This time, I told the teachers to look on the middle two shelves and grab a bin. Because everything was already sorted into bins for the unit, the teachers were able to grab and go. \r\n\r\nNext, we are going to organize the science supplies. Since we now have a dedicated space to keep all of resources, the teachers can spend more time on planning for instruction and less time looking for the resources needed. Flowering bushes and beads that are ready to string. Fabric for our weavers, and cloth to make the wedding party costumes. \r\nThe classroom teachers have been commenting on how excited the students are to get to work on this production and we started an after-school drama club so that I can work with the actors and crew.
