We were so blessed to get some of our tech updated last year for the music classroom, I would like to see if we can get some more new tech in the way of an iPad. There are so many educational apps that are free that go with classroom music programs that I feel remis in not using them as teaching aids for our digital age kids. There are free apps for instrumental play on the drums, piano, ukulele, and guitar. There are also free apps that run a sheet music program that we already use on the computer in class from Musicnotes.com, and Guitar Guru. There are more free apps on the way that will include the instruments of the orchestra. These all have great merit as they cover several components of our state standards.There are apps that can be used to create music sound loops and record students music, then transferred as a wav.file I would use that program to make class recordings and give them to their homeroom teacher.
