Having access to hands-on materials has allowed my students to move beyond simply reading about science and actually experience it for themselves. I have seen students become more excited to participate, ask more questions, work together, and make connections between what we learn in class and the world around them. For many of my students, being able to physically interact with the materials makes difficult concepts feel more understandable and gives them the opportunity to learn in a way that truly sticks with them.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, one of my biggest goals is to make science fun, memorable, and accessible for every student. These donations have helped me create those moments in my classroom. Whether students are working through a lab, building a model, testing an idea, or investigating a scientific question, the materials give them opportunities to be curious and take ownership of their learning. I have watched students who may not always feel confident academically light up when they are given the chance to be scientists themselves.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these donations have shown my students that their learning matters and that people are willing to invest in their success. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported my classroom because these materials are not just supplies. They are opportunities for my students to explore, discover, make mistakes, try again, and develop a genuine love for science. The area includes a sensory table that students can use when they are feeling angry, frustrated, or upset. When a child needs a break, they go to the table and turn over one of the sensory timers. This gives them a clear, structured amount of time to calm their bodies and emotions before returning to our activity.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nStudents have learned to use this space appropriately and independently. They enjoy using the sensory table because it is the perfect size for them and feels like a safe, welcoming place. Over time, I have noticed that students are able to regulate their emotions more quickly and return to learning with a better mindset. The timer helps create consistency and teaches them patience and self-control.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the calm down area helps students understand that it is okay to feel angry or sad. We focus on teaching that emotions are normal, but how we respond to those emotions is what matters.
