Because of you, our classroom now has cube chairs and desk attachments that are already making a meaningful difference in the daily learning experiences of our youngest students. Your generosity has provided far more than furniture - you have given our children tools for comfort, confidence, and success.\r\n\r\nIn early childhood, especially within a special education setting, the environment plays a critical role in how children learn, engage, and feel about school. Many of our students are still developing core skills such as body awareness, attention, self-regulation, and endurance for seated activities. Traditional classroom seating does not always meet their needs, which can lead to frustration, fatigue, or difficulty focusing. The cube chairs and desk attachments you helped provide were thoughtfully chosen to address exactly these challenges.\r\n\r\nSince introducing these new seats, we have already seen a noticeable difference. Students who previously struggled to sit for short periods of time are now able to remain engaged for longer activities. Thanks to your incredible support, our classroom is now filled with even more opportunities for joyful, meaningful learning. Because of your generosity, our kindergarten listening center has completely transformed! We are using our new Tonies every single day during literacy rotations, and they have quickly become one of the most loved parts of our classroom.\r\nEach morning, students eagerly ask if it's their turn at the listening center. The Tonie boxes has made independent listening accessible and exciting. Instead of simply pressing play on a traditional CD player, students physically choose a character, place it on the box, and instantly become immersed in a story. That simple, hands-on interaction has made a huge difference in engagement and independence.\r\n The listening center helped reinforce comprehension skills in a way that felt like play.\r\nWhen the students first saw the Tonies, their faces lit up. There were audible gasps and so many excited questions: \"Can we really touch them?\" \"Do they really talk?\" \"How does it know the story?\" They were instantly drawn to the colorful characters. For many of my students, this was their first experience with an interactive audio system designed just for them. The excitement was contagious, and even my quieter students were eager to participate.\r\nThe impact has gone beyond excitement. I've seen growth in listening stamina, vocabulary development, and storytelling confidence. Students who sometimes struggle to sit through a whole-group read-aloud are able to stay focused longer during listening center time. Because they can independently control the volume and replay parts, they feel empowered and successful.\r\nOur next steps are to continue integrating the Tonies into our literacy instruction in deeper ways. We are beginning to connect listening center stories with writing activities. After listening, students will draw and label their favorite part, write simple sentences about the characters, or create alternate endings. \r\nAdditionally, we are introducing peer recommendations. Students will share short \"book talks\" about the Tonie stories they've listened to, encouraging speaking and presentation skills. This not only builds literacy but also classroom community.\r\nYour support has created meaningful, joyful learning experiences for my kindergarteners. What might look like a simple listening device has truly become a powerful literacy tool. Thank you for giving my students access to stories in a way that sparks imagination, builds skills, and makes them feel excited about reading every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1764173139873,"projectUrl":"project/lets-make-listening-a-joyful-adventure/9853177/","projectTitle":"Let's Make Listening a Joyful Adventure for Little Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bavaro Gabrielli","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10025687_orig.jpg?crop=421,421,x0,y60&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761233915426","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10025687"},{"teacherId":3419403,"projectId":9606244,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of Tonies for our classroom.
