We'll be using these Apple iPad mini 2 tablets for a classroom literacy center. During our reading block I work with small groups according to their reading levels. As I am working, the students rotate to different literacy centers and work independently. Many of the students do not get to work on computers at home, which means Istation is only available at school. This is a required literacy program in our county. I will also use the iPads for St Math during math time while I am working with small groups. This is also a required program in our county. It has been hard using computers during literacy center time. Sometimes the eight year old computers are just not enough to support Istation or St Math. Nowadays technology is such an important part of learning. The more practice students get the more comfortable they will be in the future. Having these iPads will ensure higher achievement for my students in reading and math. Your donation will help provide all my students with access to the all kinds of programs. I chose iPads because there are apps that will cater to the students' needs and engage the students. IPads are cost effective and portable. The touch technology lets students use their fingertips which is beneficial to young students.
