Because our room was previously a music room, the hard floors and large open space created a significant echo that made group discussions and collaborative activities difficult. Adding the rugs has helped absorb some of that excess sound and created a calmer, more comfortable learning environment.\r\n\r\nMy Student Government students spend so much of their time communicating, brainstorming, planning events, and working together. Having a space where they can actually hear one another and stay focused has made our classroom much more functional.
