Having a small buddy next to them helped make reading feel safer and more enjoyable. I noticed students slowing down, focusing more, and taking greater pride in their reading time.\r\n\r\nYour support did more than bring holiday joy into our classrooms. One of our first activities had students working in small groups to analyze historical events and explain how geography influenced decisions people made in the past. My students are actively using the new tools during hands on investigations rather than just observing from a book or screen. One of our first activities involved modeling the Earth, Moon, and Sun using the foam balls and dowel rods. Students physically rotated the models to demonstrate day and night and explain moon phases, and for the first time many were able to clearly explain why these changes happen. Watching their confidence grow as they manipulated the models themselves was incredibly powerful.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students gathered around the boxes asking what each item was and how we would use it. The magnifying glasses, laser pointers, and magnetic wands sparked endless questions before we even began the lesson. Several students said it felt like we had a real science lab in our classroom, and they were eager to get started.\r\n\r\nThese resources are now becoming a regular part of our learning routine. We are currently using the thermometers, stopwatches, and graduated cylinders to design simple experiments where students collect data, make predictions, and explain their results using scientific vocabulary. Next, we will be moving into investigations on light, energy, and motion, where tools like the safety mirrors, Newton's Cradle, and solar system model will allow students to test ideas and observe concepts in action. Because of this project, my students are not just learning science standards.
