They were fascinated by the way the magnets pushed or pulled the little cars along. \r\n\r\nIn the specimens lab they explored preserved specimens in acrylic. The specimens included animals and plants. They were blown away by the fact that the animals were \"real,\" and they kept asking if they were alive. It was really fun for them to see the details of the animals and connect them to the habitats lessons that were previously completed . It's not typical for acrylic specimens to be found in an elementary classroom so it was especially fun for them to see and touch.
