From the command strips used to post their art work to the construction paper, writing utensils and post-its factored in to bring forth incredible pieces of art form, both in language and in visual interpretations. The materials donated have and will continue to impact my students' better understanding and appreciation of literature. \r\n\r\nPoetry for many students is one area of literature that definitely puts them on \"shut down\" mode (as I say). Fortunately, the epic poem \"Beowulf\" captivates their attention due to the many images the anonymous writer provides the reader. Images of revery, heroism, brawls, and even sentiments of pity provide detailed visuals that students can relate to in their real-world. \r\n\r\nThe project requires to choose an object or character in the text to describe using figurative language and thinking metaphorically to render the subject's characteristics/thoughts/concerns, etc. in the fashion to where the reader of the poem understands the importance of the subject matter at hand. This assignment has not only allowed them to discover creativity in finding effective word choice, but also to explore their own hands-on creative abilities and combine the two for a product that exudes pride as a result of their research of the task at hand. \r\n\r\nWe cannot thank you enough for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1753362453909,"projectUrl":"project/get-to-know-me/9398784/","projectTitle":"Get to Know Me!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ceballos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2111232"},{"teacherId":8715895,"projectId":9296608,"letterContent":"You have enabled us to create anatomically correct models for our students. However, once we were successful, the energy shifted.
