One student gasped and asked, \"Are these really for us while we work?\" When I told them yes, the room filled with that \"contagious enthusiasm\" I love so much. They didn't just see food; they saw a sign that their comfort and hard work truly mattered to people outside our classroom walls.\r\nWe have been putting these resources to use during our \"Deep Work\" sessions. Recently, we began a complex unit on intricate paper folding and sculptural techniques. This requires a high level of fine-motor focus and often leads to \"brain fatigue.\" Last Tuesday, a student was struggling with a particularly difficult fold and was on the verge of tears. We took a five-minute break in the Comfort Corner. After a quick, crunchy snack and a few sips of water, his nervous system clearly settled. He looked at me, said, \"I'm ready to try again,\" and successfully completed his sculpture.
