Your generosity has transformed our art room into a space where creativity is fueled by more than just imagination—it's fueled by care.\r\nWhen the boxes arrived and the students saw the variety of snacks—from the crunchy Cheese Balls to the energy-packed snack bars—the reaction was pure magic. One student gasped and asked, \"Are these really for us while we work?\" When I told them yes, the room filled with that \"contagious enthusiasm\" I love so much. They didn't just see food; they saw a sign that their comfort and hard work truly mattered to people outside our classroom walls.\r\nWe have been putting these resources to use during our \"Deep Work\" sessions. Recently, we began a complex unit on intricate paper folding and sculptural techniques. This requires a high level of fine-motor focus and often leads to \"brain fatigue.\" Last Tuesday, a student was struggling with a particularly difficult fold and was on the verge of tears. We took a five-minute break in the Comfort Corner. After a quick, crunchy snack and a few sips of water, his nervous system clearly settled. He looked at me, said, \"I'm ready to try again,\" and successfully completed his sculpture. That resilience is exactly what your donation has fostered.\r\nKnowing they have the \"brain-boost\" of a snack waiting for them helps them navigate the frustrations of collaborative art with patience and a smile.\r\nThank you for recognizing that art is a \"workout for the brain\" and for providing the fuel my students need to keep growing. You have helped create a sanctuary where they feel safe, seen, and ready to create something extraordinary.","fullyFundedDate":1773268322191,"projectUrl":"project/the-comfort-corner-snacking-for-success/10122311/","projectTitle":"The Comfort Corner: Snacking for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Mape","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9077558_orig.jpg?crop=1728,1728,x0,y149&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702734666889","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9077558"},{"teacherId":10428209,"projectId":10086227,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous support of our classroom. Your donation has made a meaningful difference in the academic growth of my students.\r\n\r\nThe books you provided allowed students to practice essential reading skills such as identifying the main idea, making inferences, determining the author's purpose, expanding vocabulary, and using text evidence to support their thinking. Having access to engaging and high-interest texts gave students additional opportunities to apply these skills during independent reading, small-group instruction, and classroom discussions.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these books can be seen in our students' performance on the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST). Several students who previously scored at Level 1 improved to Level 2. In addition, 22 students moved from Level 2 to Levels 3, 4, and 5. Overall, 22 of my 35 students achieved proficiency on the FAST Reading Assessment, while 5 students scored at Level 2 and are continuing to make progress toward proficiency. These gains reflect the consistent practice students received through reading these books and the opportunities they had to strengthen their comprehension skills.\r\n\r\nMany students became more confident readers and developed a greater enthusiasm for reading. Some who were initially reluctant readers began selecting books independently and actively participating in discussions about what they read.\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping them grow as readers.
