Receiving mental health first aid kits, Lysol wipes, Lysol spray, and mental health notebooks with pens has supported both the emotional and physical well-being of my students.\r\n\r\nThe mental health first aid kits have empowered students with practical tools they can use to manage stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges. Having tangible resources in their hands helps them feel supported, prepared, and more confident in navigating difficult moments.\r\n\r\nThe Lysol wipes and spray have also played an important role. Maintaining a clean and sanitized environment creates a sense of safety and comfort, which is essential in a mental health-focused classroom. When students feel physically safe, they are more open to engaging in discussions and activities that require vulnerability and trust.\r\nThe mental health notebooks and pens have given students a dedicated space to reflect, journal, and process their thoughts. Writing has become a powerful outlet for self-expression, goal setting, and emotional regulation. Many students who struggle to speak openly have found their voice through journaling.\r\n\r\nOverall, these donations have helped create a classroom environment that is safe, supportive, and centered on wellness. Because of the generosity of donors, my students have the tools they need to care for their mental and emotional health every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769192071880,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-healthy-minds/9885890/","projectTitle":"Keeping Healthy Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kirkland","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10346800"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64115","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":568,"numTeachers":53,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":87,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":52.1,"schoolId":64115,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Charles D Wyche Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Charles D Wyche Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/miami-dade-county-public-schools/charles-d-wyche-elementary-school/64115"}
