Many of them couldn't wait to explore the new sensory tools and flexible seating options. The smiles on their faces said it all — they immediately began experimenting with the items and discovering which tools helped them feel calm, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a student who often struggles with attention sit in a wobble chair and complete an entire activity without needing a break. Another student found comfort in a weighted lap pad and was able to join group work with more confidence. It's amazing to see how these simple resources make such a powerful difference in their daily learning experiences.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these materials during our morning routines and small-group lessons to support focus and emotional regulation. The next step for my students is learning to identify which tools help them the most so they can take ownership of their self-regulation and independence.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students the tools to succeed — your kindness has made our classroom a calmer, happier, and more inclusive space.","fullyFundedDate":1757015254510,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-minds-a-makerspace-for/9381054/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Minds: a Makerspace for Autistic Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. St. Aubin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8608162_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x298,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722897524090","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8608162"},{"teacherId":9566767,"projectId":9279149,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has come alive with new learning possibilities. The technology you've helped us bring in isn't just a tool — it's become a bridge to deeper understanding. Many of our students are familiar with technology at home (Like phones),but using it in school is a different experience. Here, they're learning to create, collaborate, and think critically. It's not just about using devices; it's about using them to explore ideas in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting things for our students this year is how they have adapted with using their new classroom resources. Such as the amazing computer cart, new comfortable headphones, and our new shelf that has become the hydration station in our classroom. The moment they found the use of each resource in our room, their eyes lit up. They have absolutely enjoyed using each resource within our classroom. \r\n\r\nWe've seen a few students, in particular, who have really shined with their new resource's. One student, who came from a low income family had no way of getting headphones for the school year. They have now been using our class headphones every day and enjoy using them every day. Our computer cart has also opened a brand new job for students to be computer techs and organize the computer cart. The specific students who have the computer tech job have been thriving with their new class job. The class job opportunity has definitely increased their motivation to be at school. It has been so heartwarming to watch these students find their voice and confidence through our new class resources for the school year — all thanks to your support.","fullyFundedDate":1746786151895,"projectUrl":"project/help-bright-minds-shine-support-our-cl/9279149/","projectTitle":"Help Bright Minds Shine – Support Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9566767_orig.png?crop=337,337,x73,y43&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718057704121","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9566767"},{"teacherId":10015368,"projectId":9321354,"letterContent":"We are deeply grateful for the generous donation of classroom materials, including a bookshelf, laptop cart, tissues, ink for our printer, and a label maker, to our ESE classroom. These resources are already making a meaningful difference in the daily lives of our students and in the overall learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe bookshelf has allowed us to organize our instructional books and classroom materials in a way that is both accessible and inviting for our students, encouraging independence. The laptop cart has been instrumental in helping us securely store and charge our technology, ensuring that each student has consistent and ready access to digital learning tools.\r\n\r\nThe tissues and label maker, though simple items, have had a big impact on classroom management and comfort. The tissues support the health and well-being of our students, while the label maker has helped us create a structured and organized environment that supports clear communication and independence.\r\n\r\nYour support empowers us to provide a more functional, welcoming, and student-centered classroom.
