Upon arrival of the materials, students' interests were immediately heightened. Questions such as, \"What's that for? and \"Can I sit on them now?\" ensued. Now that the parameters have been established for the Reading Nook and clearly explained to students, the Nook has become one of my favorite implementations in my classroom.\r\n\r\nEach week, students from each class are selected based on their grades, work ethic, and behavior. Those students' names are posted and they can use the Reading Nook for the entire week, during class time. On Fridays, those students get hot chocolate and Pop-Tarts as a reward for earning time in the Reading Nook.\r\n\r\nStudents have come to enjoy time in this space. They gladly remove their shoes, with respect to the carpeted space, and sit comfortably in the Big Joes. They work diligently to get selected as the student of the week and run to the board every Monday morning to see who has been selected.\r\n\r\nMy students and I are beyond grateful for the Reading Nook that your generosity has provided for our classroom.
