Because of your generosity, we are able to provide healthy snacks to our students each morning — and the impact has been immediate and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWe are a Title I school, and many of our students rely on free breakfast and lunch as the most consistent meals they receive each day. The stretch between breakfast and lunch can feel very long for little bodies. Now, when we transition into our mid-morning learning block, students are able to enjoy a healthy snack that helps them refuel and refocus.\r\n\r\nOne morning recently, a student quietly asked if we were having snack that day. When I said yes, you could see the relief on their face. After snack, that same student was more engaged during our reading lesson and eager to participate. Moments like that remind me that before children can fully focus on phonics, math, or writing, they need to feel secure that their basic needs are being met.\r\n\r\nWhen the snacks first arrived, the students were excited and grateful. They immediately understood that these were for them. Several said, \"Thank you for getting us food!\" It was a powerful reminder that what may seem simple can mean so much.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building strong literacy and math skills during our morning instructional time. With consistent access to snacks, students can focus on blending sounds, building sentences, solving math problems, and participating in classroom discussions without the distraction of hunger. This small but important support helps create a calm, ready-to-learn environment where students can give their best effort.\r\n\r\nYour generosity does more than provide food — it provides comfort, stability, and the ability for children to focus on being children and learners. Thank you for caring about our students and for making a direct difference in their daily lives.","fullyFundedDate":1769192077313,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-for-learning-a-community-snack-bin/9830433/","projectTitle":"Fuel for Learning: A Community Snack Bin for Hungry Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hicks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10050494_orig.jpg?crop=320,320,x0,y11&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749129519435","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10050494"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46342","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":551,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.7,"schoolId":46342,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Limona Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Limona Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/hillsborough-county-public-school-district/limona-elementary-school/46342"}
