My school has been quite busy this year looking at data and finding strategic ways to build the love of reading, along with teaching students HOW to read and think about what they're reading.\r\n\r\nMy school has added three new classrooms this school year and we are now a school with over 800 students. The Rooted in Reading books have allowed teachers the opportunity to incorporate rich text into their instruction, where students can identify with characters that look like them, settings that are familiar and even those that require a bit of an imagination, along with Informational texts that bring and break down complex topics to some of our most fragile readers.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, 45% of our students made their State Benchmark Assessment, Middle of the Year goal in Reading, and 31% of our students made their State Benchmark Assessment, Middle of the Year goal in Reading AND Math. Reading \"pokes\" its head into every part of a student's day, and we wouldn't have reached these percentages without your kindness and support. We know we still have work to do, and yet, we know we have the materials we need to continue our good work. The moment our preschoolers walked in and saw the new materials—bright balls, sand toys, outdoor games—they lit up with pure joy and excitement. You could hear squeals of delight, laughter echoing across the playground, and enthusiastic little voices shouting, \"Wow! Look at this!\"\r\n\r\nThe 9-inch balls and outdoor games transformed our playground into a space of movement and teamwork. Children kicked, rolled, and chased balls across the grass, working together, taking turns, and cheering each other on—all while developing gross motor coordination.\r\n\r\nThis celebration wasn't just fun—it was meaningful. It gave our students a chance to close out their preschool year feeling proud, valued, and joyful.
