It also creates a comfortable space for work. \r\n\r\nFor practical purposes, it helps my kindergartners know where to sit without sitting on top of each other. They each choose a smiley face and that's their space! It works so well with little children who have underdeveloped spatial awareness. \r\n\r\nIt also is a comfortable space to learn and work. We do a lot of classwork on the carpet to give them a break from their desks. They love sitting on the rug with a book or their math journals!
