I use picture books and science related tradebooks with all grade levels however my primary students need to be able to see the pictures from the books to really understand the relation to science. I do read alouds using my computer camera however it is difficult to read and show the pictures at the same time. I also track words when I am reading, using the doc. cam would make that possible. I have asked for counters to use for counting but also to use for bridge building. The science workbooks would give the students the opportunity to be able to answer science questions while looking for information in the text. This is another link to reading and science.
