Your generosity has already made such a meaningful impact on my students and the teachers I have the privilege of collaborating with each day.\r\n\r\nAs an ESE inclusion teacher, I work alongside students in multiple general education classrooms. One of my biggest goals is to help my students become confident, independent learners who know how to identify what they need and choose a strategy or tool that can help them be successful.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, I was able to create \"I CAN Kits\" filled with tools students can use to help them focus, organize their thinking, work through challenging tasks, self-regulate, and participate more independently in grade-level instruction. Instead of immediately relying on an adult when something feels difficult, students are learning to ask themselves, \"What tool or strategy can I use to help me?\"\r\n\r\nThe impact has extended beyond my students with IEPs. The teachers I collaborate with now have additional resources and strategies available within their classrooms that can benefit all learners. These tools have helped us create more inclusive learning environments where students can receive the support they need without feeling singled out.\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest things to see has been the confidence that comes with independence. Sometimes something as simple as having the right tool at the right moment can change a student's entire approach to a task.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students, supporting inclusive education, and helping us turn \"I can't\" into \"I CAN!\" Your generosity is making a difference every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1787881665726,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-independence-helping-every-le/10542198/","projectTitle":"Tools for Independence: Helping Every Learner Succeed","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. York","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9054259_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684443808627","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9054259"},{"teacherId":10386424,"projectId":9962714,"letterContent":"5th grade math is a particular challenge to many students, especially when they go home to complete homework alone. With the use of the iPad, funded by Donor's Choose, my students are able to access what we have done in class to support learning at home. \"Math and Science: Replay, Reteach, Succeed\" is a system I have created that puts learning in the hands of my students, while empowering them to be independent thinkers and doers. During classroom instruction, students take turns working out problems on the iPad screen, which connects and projects to my large panel in the classroom. The iPad records the teaching, allowing me to post our lessons on Canvas each night to support student learning.\r\nI can't thank the generous donors enough for placing this tool in the hands of my students. It alleviates arguments at home between parents and children when completing homework and empowers my students to watch, pause, work-out problems, and check their work, so they are prepared for class the next day! This is a valuable resource for students when they miss school, too. All they have to do is login, find the video of the day, and get to work! Here is how your gift is already making a difference:\r\n\r\nWith the new fine motor jars and games, students are strengthening the small muscles in their hands necessary for grasping a pencil and scissors.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic letters board and fishing game helps students coordinate their hand movements with what they see, which is a vital precursor to reading and drawing.\r\n\r\nThe sensory tubes, hug balls, breathing ball and mindful mazes provides the sensory tools many of my students need to develop self-regulation skills so that they are ready to learn.\r\n\r\nYour support ensures that every child in the classroom has the opportunity to thrive and succeed, regardless of their unique learning needs. Your support made a powerful impact on my modified curriculum programs this year. These books have been especially helpful for my students who rely on repetition, visuals, and simple phrases to build functional communication.\r\n\r\nYour TeacherPayTeachers gift card donation was just as transformative. They allowed me to create high-quality expansion materials—visuals, sentence strips, communication boards, and other supports—that I simply wouldn't have had the time or resources to produce on my own.
