We just got it in about a week ago and they ask about taking it out to see the sunspots constantly. As we get to know it better we will be expanding its use to morning and night viewings. But for right now as we finish the school year, we are just beginning to learn its strengths and limitations. It's different from a refracting or reflecting telescope in that this type of Astrophotography telescope is built to follow objects in the sky over long periods of time while taking images. Then we can stack those images together digitally and extract much more light and color information and detail resulting in amazing images of galaxies, nebulae and deep space objects. \r\nThis Astrophotography telescope will be a big asset in ramping up interest in our new Astronomy course t hat takes off in August 2026. When we do outside viewings, I'll be able to have this set up alongside a reflecting telescope. Students will be able to see on a screen what the SeeStar is imaging while looking through the much larger 14 inch reflecting telescope as well. \r\nMy students and I thank you for allowing us to broaden our horizons (pun intended) as we move toward learning more about our place in the universe and what all surrounds us. By rotating the inner circle to the correct date and time, they will be able to see the star constellations above where they are standing. This will be a great visual aid for when we go out for early morning or late night viewings. I really appreciate you taking the time to read our project proposal and then for deciding to donate to it.
